I came across this today – an “Ubuntu Certificate of Authenticity“. While not actually required (or real) it’s a nice and clever idea – especially when you read how the barcode and key were made,

The barcode matches the value of the key, which is the HEX value of “GNU/LINUX”, but I had to add ’01’ to the end of the key for the number of figures to balance out.

Then came Digg and the inevitable mod in salute of pirates everywhere…
