Merry Christmas

Just a quick post to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Hopefully you’re enjoying both with friends and family…

Christmas is coming…

I know this, as I saw an ad on TV last night – and we’re not even half way through October yet! Sheesh.

10 Years at MetService

Today clocks up a personal milestone – ten years working at MetService. And yes, I still enjoy it – from the people I work with to the daily challenges that weather forecasting brings.

Now for a shameless plug – if you want forecasts, current warnings or recent weather observations head to metservice.com. And if you want other NZ focused weather info, including links to privately run weather stations and webcams, computer model forecasts, satellite imagery and much more, visit my weather pages at weather.noble.gen.nz.

Finally, a quick quote for ya,

In Scotland, there is no such thing as bad weather – only the wrong clothes.” – Billy Connolly.

Home again

We’re back from a fantastic trip to the family bach in the Sounds – a week of warm summer weather and relaxing “away from it all”. I’ve yet to sort some photos and videos so stay tuned for that…

What happened in our absence? You tell me! With no internet access my feed reader accumulated 1700+ items which kinda hammers home just how much online content I look at. Might be time to reduce that somewhat! We did however catch the TV news including Sir Ed’s state funeral (on our one rain day) which is now available via the TVNZ ondemand website.

Right then. On with the unpacking and digital organising…

Happy New Year!

2007. Tick. Where did it go so fast?! Here’s seven notables for me,

* Matthew turned one, started eating solids, crawling, pointing, walking, reading, talking etc etc
* Lou and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary – traditionally marked with paper (hmmm, money perhaps?!)
* It’s now 10 years since mum passed away
* My sister had a little boy, Oliver Jake Chinn
* I successfully applied for the senior role of Severe Weather Forecaster at MetService
* I visited Perth for the first time
* I watched all 21 official James Bond films!

Right then. On with 2008…

Merry Christmas

Just a quick note to wish all visitors a very Merry Christmas. Wherever you are, and however you choose to spend it, I hope you enjoy time with friends or family this festive season. Have fun and be safe.

Best wishes from the Noble family.

PS. Santa Rocks!
